The Science Behind The Meridian Flexibility System® Quantifying Human Range of Motion (QHROM) Research The QHROM motion analysis software program, graphically displays, records and analyzes the person’s bones rotational interrelationships (BRI) concomitant with these sixteen flexibility movements. Sixteen muscle groups and their ranges of motion are analyzed. Within fifteen minutes, the computer displays and prints out the person’s true flexibility (range of motion ROM) for all their major joints of the body. The person’s flexibility results are displayed numerically and pictorially and compared to averages, norms, and optimal levels of flexibility. Individuals can view what relationships their bones are in compared to ideal models, to what extent their bones rotate compared to optimal ranges, which muscles are contracting and lengthening to produce their movements, and ‘target muscles’ exhibiting significant limitations in flexibility for the sixteen different stretch movements are identified. Visual comparisons to ideal posture, and optimal bone-muscle movement relationships can be studied through an interactive interface. Targeted areas of significant and potentially dangerous stresses are highlighted. A prioritized list of muscles needing increased flexibility with respective recommended corrective stretch movements is presented. Re-evaluation after treatment can occur at any time, treatment modality accountability assessed, and improvements quantified. This QHROM System is an extremely accurate and reliable scientific method for diagnosing one’s true flexibility. It can be used as a powerful preventative medicine approach for physical injury, rehabilitation, improving posture and for evaluating the efficacy of different therapeutic modalities; i.e.: changes in ROM through correct practice of the Resistance Flexibility Training® techniques can be visually and quantitatively evaluated verses other therapeutic modalities. It is also one of the best means for helping to optimize athletic performance —by eliminating myo-fascial malfunctions and stresses; (i.e. Dara Torres at the 2000 Olympic Games won two gold and three bronze medals crediting The Meridian Flexibility System® and Bob Cooley as a significant contribution to her success. Dara brought Bob on GMA twice to show America how a 33 year old woman could be more flexible and faster than she was at 16. In the future, changes in flexibility will be correlated with specific improvements in physiological and psychological health. The Directors of The Meridian Stretching Center are in process of accepting funding and capital investments in this project. Please send all inquires to: Tom@MeridianStretching.com |
